How to Draft an Affidavit
In drafting your affidavit, it is important to ensure that you have actual knowledge of the facts that you are attesting to. For instance, you should avoid opinions and beliefs in your affidavit. You should also keep your affidavit clear and concise by sticking to relevant facts. For examples of affidavits click here: affidavit template and here: affidavit template.

Corporate Online
According to the New Societies Act, every organization in British Columbia is required to register, file documents and update records. Luckily, finding information packages, forms, instructions and legislation related to starting, maintaining or dissolving a business or organization in BC has become relatively easy, thanks to Corporate Online.
The registry provides convenient online access to government information, filings, products and registration for both public and private sector business customers. It administers the legal framework used for operating organizations, registering corporations, sole proprietorships and other forms of business. Some BC Online corporate products and services include (but not limited to):
- Amending Articles
- Adding and changing Director information
- Amending share structure
- Set formulae and procedure to follow
- Updating business address and contact information
- Name Registration
These transactions are fee-based and annual dues are either paid online using credit card payment or to the BC Online deposit account. The good thing about the online filing is that it can be submitted any day from Monday through Sunday, including statutory holidays. Be sure to check the daily filing timelines here.
A number of free legal resources can assist with your case: the Continuing Legal Education Society and the Legal Services Society.
